Yeah, I think so too. It's a really good camera even tho' it's outdated, but when you mom comes into your room and say that she has a present for you and it is a new DSLR, than you off course will say yes. :'D

What camera have you been thinking about? :'D

Ok, a new camera as a gift makes a difference indeed

i thought about a newer Sony DSLR like A-450 or A-500...of course a Sony and not a full-frame so i could still use all my lenses.

Well, the A-500 and the A-550 is almost the same DSRL just a little different on px and the shutter speed. I'm really happy with my new DSRL, and it's almost the same as the A-500. I don't know how the A-450 is, but I would go for the A-500 than. ^^

Yeah, that would be the best one if you are really happy with you DSRL. What kind of lences do you have?

So,you're satisfied with your A-550? Does it make such a difference compared to the old 100? As I said, for such an old camera the A-100 still works quite fine for me, except from 3 facts: The viewfinder is REALLY small, manual focus is almost impossible. Another point is that I'd love to have a battery grip, which simply isn't available for this particular model, and sometimes when shooting macro or frog perspective I miss live-view to not have to lie down on fields or parking lots any longer

Live-view and battery grip would be fixed with the A-550, what about the viewfinder?

As you said, they're almost the same so I'd say it would depend on the offer I'd get. If I found a discount offer on one of them I wouldn't say no just because of A-500 or A-550...but for the next months there will be no new camera I think for I just spontaneously booked another summer holiday in late August which I'll have to save my money for

Oh, and I own both Sony kit-lenses, 18-70mm and 75-300mm tele, accompanied by a Sigma 50mm/F2.8 AF macro lens I got on eBay quite cheap and my new

, the Sigma 10-20mm/F4.0-5.6 wideangle...none of them would work with a full-frame
