Welcome to my second spontaneously feature article! I'm really sick today because of the last night so I just sat around, doing nothing, fighting a hangover in combination with a cold...and yeah, got kinda bored so I typed "absolut" into the dA-searchbox. I've got a bottle of Absolut Mandrin around me and realised again that the simple, smooth design of Absolut is just absolut cool but after having seen the results I have to admint that this is absolut creativity...there are some really nice ideas out here, have a look at the ones i liked best:

Welcome to my first featuring article: My first theme is Iceland. I'm dreaming of visiting Iceland for quite a long time but I wasn't able to realize it by now. Right now, I'm going through the gallerys, watching all those breathtaking landscapes there...and am just dreaming!

I hope, I will be able to infect you with my love to this tiny little spot down in the north.

Hey!

So this is christmas...
I've waited for it quite long, now it's already the time to celebrate christmas and I've got not the real christmas feeling: In fact, I'll have to leave for work soon. Working on Christmas Eve really sucks, I think :(

In general, I started my civil service on December 1st, the job's not too bad and most of the people I'm working with are nice and open-minded but by now, I've got really crappy working times, almost only night shifts which basically means ten or twelve hours of waiting for something to happen and forcing yourself to keep your eyes open. I hope those taks plans will get more fair the longer I'll be there...

BUT: Another year is almost over and if the next year will be that short, my civil service will be over quite soon :)
This year was quite special for me in many aspects: I passed my exams enabling me to visit university, I was accepted at universities, I was planning to move away to start study...and due to civil service, I had to cancel everything.
I got a new room, I got my MacBook , I "really worked" for the first time, earning lots of money (in my eyes) and spent lots of money.

Aaaand of course, this year was a real highlight in terms of travelling around:
In spring, we visited Lake Geneva in Switzerland which was really beautiful and interesting.
In may, I went to Hamburg, a nice city and made one of the most disappointing experiences in my life. Although, I just love that city!
In June visiting :iconkeen-dreams: in Malta, experiencing diving, REAL heat, suicidal bus-drivers and the unbelievable Maltese nightlife. It was a cool trip, I'm thankful for it and I'm really looking forward to visit Richard again next year when he'll return to Malta! :)
Than came the real highlight of the year, our 2-week-journey through California, San Francisco - Los Angeles on the Highway 1. I imagined America would be cool but it was even more than this...it was simply breathtaking, can't wait to get there again!
But still not enough: The last trip of the year brought :iconkeen-dreams: and me to London, visiting his sister and trying to take some good photos there...hmm, photos failed unfortunately, but London was a new experience again.

So, what I'd like to say: Thanks to everybody for enabling me this year, after all it was nice :)
I want to thank everybody for his/her support here on dA and in real life, keep it up the next years!
Thanks so much and I wish all of you a blessed, quiet, peaceful merry christmas and a happy, successful, interesting new life, may some of your dreams come true!

Hey everyone,

some few news from my life:

First of all, I spontaneously bought an old Sigma 50mm F2.8 macro on eBay for I wanted a macro lens since I started taking photos. Today it arrived, unfortunately it was already almost completely dark outside, so I had to look for some quick test-motives inside the house and lighten them artificially. The result: I'm completely stunned by the depth of field and the bokeh created using F2.8 but the white balance in the first shots is really awful, so I'm not gonna upload more of it until I'll find some better situations for using the new lens. But I'm really looking forward to go out and see what there'll be found when the weather will get better again.

Second, I'm going to exchange my room with my sister for my room is too much cleaning up and I don't feel comfortable in here any more. I'm going to have about 1/4 of the space I'm having right now but I see it as a chance to start a completely new room, I'm gonna buy much new furniture and for the first time in my life everything concerning colors will be balanced in my new room. So, I'll use my free month for creating a new, more cozy atmosphere. In December, I'll have to start my civil service at the German Red Cross :(

So long and you can be sure there'll be more macro shots soon :D

some news.

2 min read
hey everyone.

after being too lazy to write something in here, finally some news from me again.
since friday i've finally got my (broken) camera back, which means it isn't broken anymore. the repair was about 200 euro - that sucks. but now, it's back home but unfortunately i've had to notice that this doesn't help that much: weather totally sucks, it's cold as hell (at least in my opinion :D) and i'm ill due to a photo trip yesterday which wasn't successful at all. i took around 100 shots i guess and i've got only one picture i'm satisfied with...
in general, i'm suffering a huge lack of creativity and a lack of motivation to try out new techniques or ideas :( i think this is an effect caused by working around 30 hours per week in a quite annoying and boring job in an office which is very profitable but not creative at all.

buuut the good news (which i need all this money for): we are going to visit London in about 2 weeks. we'll spend a weekend there, a weekend with sightseeing, photographing and clubbing (hopefully :D). i looked for photos taken in London here on dA and i was really stunned by the huge opportunities of architectural photography there - which means basically the egg, the eye, tower bridge, city hall, times square, etc...
so, everybody who'd been to London before (or who'd not been there as well but has ideas anyway) might tell me any locations he/she knows to take photos, this would be really helpful for me :)
of course, other suggestions/hints concerning London are very appreciated as well...

so, many thanks in advance!

have a great time.
